Make Me! 02:35
I I wanted to say I’ll do it my way But you You just can’t seem To believe in me You can try but you can’t change me My sidekick Kato will kick your ass If you try You can try but you won’t make me I’ll do my own thing It’s do or die We We just can’t see Eye to eye And I I just can’t see A reason to try You can try but you can’t change me My sidekick Kato will kick your ass If you try You can try but you won’t make me I’ll do my own thing I’m saying goodbye

I’ve got to get over This weight that pulls me down The worlds on my shoulder But I’ve got to carry on Never Be the Same Now that everything’s changed Never be the same Never be the same I’ve got to remember The way that I felt Before I felt so unsure Before everything fell Never Be the Same Now that everything’s changed Never be the same Never be the same The worlds turned around Everything’s gone crazy My worlds upside down I’m numbed in amazement But a new day will dawn Say goodbye to the sameness We’ve got to move on And say hello to the strangeness Never Be the Same Now that everything’s changed Never be the same Never be the same

I've spent my whole life Trying to please you Who would ever think It could be so hard Only ever wanted to hear Okay All right, good job I spent my whole life Trying to reach you Hoping you could Lend a hand Took me too long to learn and understand I was never ever in your plans You see life So unlike I do My world is revolving But not around you I spent my whole life Trying to read you Who would ever think It could be so hard Only ever wanted to find the key But the mystery remains unsolved Why do you see life So unlike I do My world is revolving But not around you

about

<Original Press Release>

The Story: Three Chord Circus is a new band fronted by songwriter/guitarist Jim Hewitt. In a former life Jim co-founded the band Last Gentlemen in Champaign, IL with friends Brian Leach (Sugarbuzz, Autoliner, The Great Crusades) and Michael Roux. Last Gentlemen developed a large local following and released a series of highly successful independent albums followed by one not-so successful major label effort (TheWorldBehindYourBack - ZOO/BMG)*.

Fast forward to 2002: with a stockpile of songs and a desire to play again Jim begins an on-again/off-again search for local musicians to bring his songs to life. The journey is frustrating and unfruitful until it heads back to the START!... a call to old friends and a former band mate.

The Band: While Hewitt handles the guitars, vocals and occasional keyboards former Last Gentlemen band mate and sought after session musician Tommy Garza plays drums. Long time contributor/collaborator Mike Mooney plays bass and provides his technical expertise during the recording process. In breaks from supporting his brother's band (OTEP/Capitol Records) Kevin McGuire covers keyboards and shares backing vocals duties with Londoner John Wedge.

The CD: The limited edition START! CD/EP (Revolution-Network) is where it all begins. Recorded in Champaign and Chicago the three song START! CD is the first release by Three Chord Circus and offers a taste of what to expect from their upcoming full length release Internationally Unsigned due later this year.

*Former label mates Tool and Matthew Sweet fared much better.
